If you haven’t read Jordan Belfort’s Way of the Wolf, I would highly recommend it.
The movie is great, but was built simply for entertainment. His book, on the other hand, is full of great sales advice. And it’s written in his voice, so it’s easy and entertaining to read, if you can look past all the swear words. Although his ethics are questionable, his sales methodology is brilliant.
The core idea in the book, the Straight Line System, states: every sale is the same.
If you strip away the product, the price, the objections, and the personality types, you’re left with this:
-
The buyer must love the product or service.
-
They must trust and connect with you.
-
They must trust and connect with the company.
That’s it.
